NDT: Loop in "Where used"-Funcion?

Hello everybody,
I'm having a problem with the NDT.
I want to find out in which places a certain field is used, so I'm using the "Where used"-function. The problem is that it stops after a short time of processing in an object. To be precise it seems so go into an endlessloop as it appears to run through code lines (which you can see at the bottom line of the window on the right - the "Searching Code...Object XY Line 1234 thing) an doesn't get to the next object.
I'm using the NDT 2.0 SP2 Build 280
Nav-DB 4.0 SP1 (and for a test SP2)
I tried the following things:
- reinstall NDT (several times)
- rebuild the Toolkit-DB
- upgraded the nav-db to sp2
To be honest, i'm out of any ideas now, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is your NDT connected to a local DB or with a DBservice?
I always use a service because it seems better/faster.Regards,Alain Krikilion
No PM,please use the forum. || May the <SOLVED>-attribute be in your title!0 -
To a local DB. But I can't imagine how that could be the problem as it's not running slow it's just running endless in an objet, at the moment it is at code line 2.7 Billions in Table 5050 which is certainly a big table but not that big0

One suggestion, delete the object from dtk0

In some objects NDT is always getting in loop. The only away I solved, was not importing those object in to NDT.0
-
Well, that would be a possibility but the object I want to check is the also the object where I get the loop0

Hi Jan,
i have reported this error on 31.01.06 to MBS and they said this will be fixed in SP3, but the release date of SP3 for NDT is completely unknown.
I am using SP1 furthermore.

Hi Thomas,
You're welcome!
it is very very pitty that SP2 has this endless loop, because there 25 errors repaired in SP2 (from which i reported 8 myself to MBS).

Ok, this is an information I can work with, thank you very much
. So I'll install the NDT in SP 1 and try it again. Thanks again.

Hi,
there is a new version (SP3) in PartnerSource (https://mbs.microsoft.com/partnersource/downloads/releases/ndtall.htm?printpage=false).
The "endless looping" problem is solved.br
