Object Numbers

Hi, I'm new to Navision Attain and was hoping someone here would ba able to answer the following questions about object numbers:

1. Do Navision NSC partners usually get a unique range of object numbers from Microsoft to prevent their objects conflicting with objects from other partners?

2. Can my customers use the objects that I create somewhere in the 50000-99999 range without having to purchase any additional licensing?

    Hi,

    Object nos are not unique to any solution center as it varies from database to database. If a customer purchases the basic designer like table designer, form designer and report designer, they get objects in the range of 50000..99999,if not they have to buy the required objects from Microsoft.

    Thanks for your help Suresh.

    This presents a possible problem as we may want to buy some customisations from other NCR's and combine them with our own, which means that we could get conflicts with the object numbers.
    I guess the best approach would be to choose an unusual range for our own development.

    If you buy an official registered add-on, it will be in the 2000000-range. Your license will be updated, to have the right permissions on that objects.

    If you have bought the table designer granule, you have automatically access to tables in the range 50000 .. 50009. If you buy a extra granule for 10 more tables, you can define the object range yourself (chose between 50010 and 99999). The same goes for forms, reports, dataports and codeunits, but you buy them per 100.

    Hi

    I always understood that each NSC has its own Range of Object ID's and when they purchase objects for their client then they buy in that range

    ie. we start at 66200 ,which is the range we have been assigned.

    If the client/Customer has any of the design granules then they start with object 50000.

    and these Object id ranges are then imbedded in to the client license each time it is updated with the extra objects purchased.

    Just to clarify, if I create objects within the 50000-99999 range, can my customers then use these objects without having to buy anything extra?

    Hi

    NO. :( The client must have purchased these objects. The client's license dictates what object range they can use, the license is updated each time they purchase any new objects.

    I have just found out that under the new pricing structure you can now purchase objects singularly, which makes sense for the smaller installations using the new Standard editions of Navision.
