NDT with Update Option: Add

I'm still newbie with NDT and hoping that someone can help me with this:
The online help says that if I selected "Add" and the current object already exists, the existing object data will be saved as an "older data version" and the new object imported will be added as the "current data version."
I have ran my initial import a few months back and now I want to see what have changed so I create a new Import Card with following parameters:
New Version: No
Base Version Code: (pointing to my initial import)
Update Option: Add
Filter: (none)
But after running for about an hour and said that "nnn objects imported", I found NOTHING gets updated. The objects' definitions inside NDT are remain the same.
It will go differently though if I'm using Filter to import certain object (f.e. CU80 only) but even in that case I can only see "current data version" and can't find "older data version" anywhere. ](*,)

once you replace the object, you cannot retrieve the previous object. You need to export your previous objects and store them somewhere as backups. Navision does not keep or track versions of the same object.0
