is there a 'find' and 'replace' for a column?

In an upgrade, two of our columns in a table were not converted correctly...if i wanted to change 'P-MV' in an entire column to 'O-MV' is there an easy way or tool to do that?

    Hi,

    Run the table and then,

    First find the P-MV value in the field then press F7 key and set a filter. Then press Ctrl+F and you will get a search window and you will see a Replace All button click on the button and then enter the current value as P-MV and then in the replace with column enter O-MV and then click replace all. All the values with P-MV will be changed with O-MV.

    Just Ctrl + H on the column will do ;-) ... its same as in word.

    Just like Ctrl+Z, standaard in every windows application.... oops!

    With the Find and Replace, I'm running into trouble when there are ledger entries for the cards that need corrected. The system won't replace the information then. Is there a way around this problem? I've only had a little training, so I'm hoping this is ignorance on my part and there is a solution! :?

    Well, Ledger entries are non-editable. So I don't think the find and replace will work. You need to write correction batches. But these can only be made and run by Navision Solution Centers. You'll need a special license for that.

    Ledger entries are editable for NSC development purposes only. Thus if replaceable value is a key value it requires confirmation, so it's not possible to use standard windows replace in those cases - otherwise it works just fine.
