when upgrading from 2.50 to 3.60 database got really slow...

how come listing the chart of accounts 'receivables - payables' slowed down dramatically when we upgraded a company from 2.50 to 3.60?? i mean, it's like each line takes 1.5 seconds to display...i can't find the difference in the code. is there some kind of optomization for the database, or what??

    My friend, you have to change the commit cache on the server. This will definitely increase the speed.

    You should get yourself the install manual to assist you on that. Besides commit cache you will need set some other parameters.

    Do you have enough memory assigned to the server?

    You need to assign 20 MB for every 1 GB database size, and 4 to 12 MB per user depending on if they are light or havy users.

    e.g. 10 user, 4 of them light, working with a 3 GB database need : 3 * 20 = 60 MB, + 4 * 4 = 76 MB, + 6 + 12 = 148 MB.

    To be save, set the server to double this size but leave enough for windows and other running software on the server.

    Did you check flowfields like I posted in a previous post?
