Upgrade Concorde C5 to Navision 4.0

Hi.

We (the company I work for) are about to begin an implementation project in our Danish office. They currently use Concorde C5 (v1.6). Does anybody here have any advice for an upgrade like this?

Obviously, we have to get past the tables being entirely in Danish, but are there any other pitfalls to keep an eye on?

We have previously brought three of our other offices into Navision, but there has been some staffing changes since then and this will be the first implementation I've been involved in. Note that we are not developers, just holding the "keys" to navision and concorde. :)

    Isn't Condorde an early version of Axapta and not Navision? I don't think an upgrade toolkit exists for that.

    You better start with a clean installation and data migration through text files.

    As for Danish tables - when I've been to Denmark, I found that if I "average" English and German it's almost exactly Danish. For example, "tog" is "train" (average of "train" and "Zug") and "Kystbannen" is "costal railroad" (average of "coast" and "Bahn").

    If I remember correctly, Concorde is some Add on for Navision.
    I think in the past there was another post about it.

    Nope, it was Damgaard, not Navision

    ok. "upgrade" was a bad term to use in the subject line. i should have said implement Nav 4 in a C5 environment.

    I don't speak german or danish! looks like we'll be ordering a danish-english dictionary!

    We will take the data out of concorde in text files (?) and import that into Navision. the big challenge will be attempting to map that data from the concorde data structure to navision.

    looks like i may learn some danish!

    I'm sure the client can help you on mapings. You can sit with an english person and map them pretty quickly.
    Also there some mibuso has some danish speaking members who could help you.

    There are software that do the following: when you hover the mouse over a word, a translation window pops up. Clearly better than a dictionary. One of them is called MobiMouse I think.[/list]
