You can pass a filename as a command line parameter, and you can also drag a file from Windows explorer onto the Navision Object Text Explorer window to open it.0

Text explorer is a very nice tool for quick and easy textsearch0
-
Use the NAvision Developers Toolkit. For that you do not have to create txt-documents.
You can direct connect to a database!
Also it is not possible to create txt-files of every object.
for that tool is no use.0 -

Thank you for your kind words
Actually, it is possible to create a single text file per object, if that is what you mean. Here's how:
- In the treeview pane, select the top node. A listview will appear in the righthand pane.
- There you can select the objects that you want to be exported.
- Right-click on the selected objects and select Export from the context menu.0 -
Jan,
Again, I would like to ask you of you could use another file dialog? One that can remebers the last opend directory would be great.
Or the ability to drap and drop objects from your tool to the explorer, this would be a very cool feature!
Hope it's possible!"Real programmers don't comment their code.

Jan,
Great stuff, i'm using it every day. Mostly to be able to compare objects. This brings me my question:
Could you maybe build in some functionality with which you can make an export and set the Navision Date en Time property in the Text file or just delete it.
This would be very helpfull when comparing."Real programmers don't comment their code.

Navision Object Text Explorer v1.0.0.23
Navision Object Text Explorer is a small application that will allow you to browse and search through Navision object text files. While browsing or searching, the current object will be highlighted in the left pane, thus making it easier to know your position within a large file.
Navision Object Text Explorer does not need to make any changes to your system's registry since it stores all of its settings in a file called note.zup, which resides in the same folder as the program's executable, note.exe. This makes uninstalling the application as simple as deleting note.zup and note.exe.
You can pass a filename as a command line parameter, or you can also drag a file from Windows explorer onto the Navision Object Text Explorer window to open it.

Nice tool. I think it is still of use despite what my esteemed colleague said....
Showing it's age by lack of support for the new object types now. Also, some way to manage the RDL elements in a report object would be good.
Just to say thank you to everyone who spends their time creating useful tools like this for the benefit of the community.0 -

I spent a lot of time in the last weeks revitalising the old lady.
