Hi Friends,
My client is not using manufacturing module therefore the consumption of RM and Output of Finished Goods is done thru BOM Journal. Both Raw Material and Finished Goods are tracked thru LOT Numbers. At the time of booking output of FG i am unable to define the LOT No. of Raw Material Consumed. Only the option of defining Item tracking code for FG is available on the screen.
Please Help.

When you receive material using item journal or purchase order, you can assign lot no. or serial no. That can be done if you defined item tracking code in the item card. When you post the item in the BOM journal I think you can assign the serial no. or lot no. have you tried that..?

I have tried to assign the lot tacking code but there is no option available for defining the Lot No. of Raw Material in the BOM Journal. Option of defining code of FG is available.

BOM Journal does not handle Item Tracking. Some features like tracking or cost adjustment are deliberately left out to make people buy Production Orders. It renders BOM Journals pretty useless - but the sad fact is that they don't warn people to don't buy it, to avoid falling into this trap... MS really should communicate these things better...0

A half year ago I have sent a support request tocrosoft support. The lapidary answer was that the customer should buy the production module #-o. The moreover we had to pay the Hotline fees also.
Why Microsoft does not program an extension for BOM journals like e.g. Transfer Journal... :-k
But if it is too complicated, a programming is not converted. Very simple.
Theanswer is... There is no easy way to use Item Trackings in BOM Journals. Bill of Materials with Item Tracking can not be handled in Navision. You have to use Manufacturing0 -

It's just amazing
Imagine a car dealer selling a car without a transmission and then charging 100 EUR for telling you it's only in the deluxe version
