Date creation

I have a report that needs to get the current year, and then get the starting date for the first of that year. I used DATE2DMY(TODAY,3) to get the year, but how do I create a date like 010106D. I would like to make this dynamic instead of having the user enter the date. Any ideas.
Thanks

I didn't know that. I knew about CY giving you the last day of the year, but the -CY was new to me. Cool0

There are so many different combinations for date calculations that can be used - it needs it's own manual
I'll add this download, so it doesn't get forgotten, in case someone searchs for "Date Creation"
