how would i export my sales orders. my question is actually -what record name do i need to call up to obtain all the info in my sales orders?

The salesorders are stored in table 36 and 37.
You can export them via a dataport.0 -
Or XMLPort, or you can create a file through C/AL code, or an excel file using the excel buffer table, plenty of possibilities.
But tables 36 and 37 is where you will find the data for open order information. For posted shipments look in tables 110 and 111, for posted invoices look in tables 112 and 113, and for posted sales credit memos look in tables 114 and 115.

And if you want open orders you need to filter on "document type"::Order.
Otherwise also quotes, invoices etc. will get exported.0 -
