Base Unit Of Measurement

Dear Experts,

Kindly let me know if there is a possibility to have a BASE UNIT OF MEASUREMENT for every item with convertion set up....

For instance.... If my unit of measurement for an Item is KG ...
even if I enter in Lbs (pounds) the system should convert it into KG (cause this is set as base measurement) or atleast ask to enter in KG or ask a promt to convert it into KG??????

Is this possible????

    The unit of measurement is listed and used as base, purchase, sales or in BOM line.in every field, if you click lookup, system lead you directly to item units of measure. so, you must set the conversion value first, than use it wherever you want. so the purpose will be clear for example it will be used as inventory UOM, or BOM UOM.

    From the Item Card, click on the Item button and select Units of Measure. You can enter however many units of measure in there, with the conversion factors. You don't even have to set all of them up as sales or purchase units. You can use all of them as long as they are set up in the Item Unit of Measure table. The system will automatically calculate quantities in Base Unit of Measure. The Base unit is used to keep your inventory.
