What is the purpose of use INTEGER Table?

I've never used INTEGER Table, because I have had no needs to use it or how to use it. I haven't found any line in documentation about how to use it or where to use it.
I have seen in some reports that INTEGER table is used as DataItem as some counter, but I don't think it is the only purpose of that table..

You can do all kinds of funny stuff with the integer table.

Some statistics forms are buit on the integer table.

It is solved.

We have made a invoicing module that supports all our add-on. But I had so integrate a new submodule into it.

It was a design problem, not a programming issue

What is the purpose of use INTEGER Table?
