security in v4

hi
i have in my database 2 companies. and i want to give to each user the compagny where he have to do transactions. but whene i add the name of the compagny in role specific to user i m not able to open the company.

With the same user and the same role without name of the comapny it works.

    I think you need to create duplicate roles and add a single company into each role, then apply the correct roles to each user.

    It's messy but I think it's the only way to do it, it's a shame you can't make it user specific.

    1) Did you run synchronize after the change?
    2) It is working, the problem must be somewhere else...
    3) You do not need separate roles for each company...

    If the above comments do not help, then I hope this helps. If you add company specific security to the ALL group/role, then you do get an error when you open Navision if that user was last in a different company. You should be able to go to Company, Open to access the company. Just to add to the previous note, in 40 with sql, you may have to run Sync. - Karen
