I'm trying to do some tests and I want to create a dataport for item file from an exel file and CSV file into Navision.
What I did now was to create a new dataport, assign an ID and a name but when i try to use the import option nothing happen, the screen is still blank.
Any idea? BTW , i'm not a technical person so dont be too hard with my techincal questions.
Thanks

One of the easiest things to do is use your dataport to EXPORT some data into a txt file. Then look at the file it created. You will then know what your IMPORT text file needs to look like.0

Your desceription of what you did does not sound like you picked a table or the fields you want..did you?
did you setup the Start & End Field Delimiters & Field Seperators?
There is a section on DATAPORTS in the Application Designers Guide.
Found on your CD or http://www.geocities.com/navision_attain/downloads.html0 -

So did you get anywhere? Is it making more sence?0

Did you add fields to the dataport? I always forget that part. I get all fancy with writing code and everything, and then when I run the thing for the first time it never exports anything. Especially embarrassing in a classrom full of clients. "Hello I am senior developer but I always forget dataport fields"0

Yes, and worse it is if you want to import and you forget this - neverending loop...0
