Migrate from XAL to Navision 4.0 SP1

Hello.
I am trying to convince a customer to buy Navision 4.0.
He is recently using and old XAL, witch is soon out of support.
Has anyone experience in this kind of migration? I have searched the MS Partner site, but couldn't find a migration tool. I am most concerned about G/L conversion.
Has anyone experience in this and could give me an advice?

As far as I know XAL is the version prior to Axapta and has nothing to do with navision.
If there are no tools available I would treat is as any other conversion to Navision.0 -
So you want to migrate from Axapta to Navision, which will be the same product in like 5 years anyway? I am sure the support is only a matter of Microsoft's official support. Nothing prevent you from supporting your customer right?0

Hello again.
XAL is not Axapta, but an old Navision version witch will be out of support soon. (It is also called Concord in their system).
I am not an expert in that program, but it is called Navision XAL.
They are using ASP today, so the program and database is 400 km from the company. They want a local solution.
I only have thin client access to the program, so I must get the database file from the ASP. Or I must use exsport functionality from XAL.
Anyone have any suggestion?0 -
XAL is not an old version of Navision. XAL is an old damgaard product that has evolved to AXAPTA
Maybe you should post this in the Axapta forum as more people sould know the answer to your problem
I have some ex-colleages with XAL knowledge and they say that the basic programming is similar to CAL.
Or you should contact a AXAPTA partner and hire a XAL programmer.0 -
Alright sorry for my incomplete posting, I apologize to the purists in this board. I meant to say 'a product in the Axapta family of products' instead of Axapta.0

OK, me sorry too. O:)
This topic was already confusing by thinking XAL was once navision, so I figured a small correction was needed :?0 -
Well what it is or isn't is not so important. It says Navision XAL, and that is what I know about it.
I found a tool at Columbus IT Partner called X2A Conversion, and this program converts XAL to Axapta or Navision, without loosing anything.
Hopefully I find something free somewhere, if Santa is extremely kind this year.0
