Deploying Microsoft Dynamics Finance and Operations on Premise with minimal hardware requirements

We have a Microsoft Dynamics 365 on-premise with 7 server licenses, 5 full user licenses and 1 team license. Considering the usage of the system will not be that much, we were considering deploying on the following
1 AOS
1 Orchestrator
1 MSSQL Server
1 Reporting server

Is the above possible as opposed to the recommendations from Microsoft with 3 AOS, 3 Orchestrator, etc. If yes, is there any guidelines on how to go about it?

Thank you

To be entirely exact, you can deploy Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations in a minimized on-prem setup with 1 AOS, 1 Orchestrator, 1 SQL, and 1 Reporting server, especially if only a few users and low transaction volume are considered.

But the reason Microsoft does recommend multiple AOS and Orchestrator nodes is for high availability and failover. With a single node, when a server goes down, the whole system is down. So it works for dev/test or very small production environments, but it's not ideal for business-critical workloads.

If you go this route, just make sure you size the hardware properly: CPU, RAM, SSD. Monitor performance closely and plan to scale. That's possible; it's just risky.
