NAV 2013 Permissons

Hi All,

I am currently examining the mess that is the Permission Sets on NAV 2013. Is there a tool that I can use to list of the Pages/Tables/Reports etc that my users are using on a daily basis to help create more restrictive permission sets. There has to be an easily method than going through object by object?

I appreciate any and all advice/guidance on this.

Andy

Do you want to give them the permission set based on what they are using or based on what they should be using? I think you should give them based on what they should be owning. Check Permissions assigned to them and assign the necessary one.

I am working on the theory that they are largely doing what they should be doing but, if I had a list of pages they are going to, I can then remove the ones that I know they don't need (Job Queue Entries or No Series for example).

By the looks of the security model currently in place, they have access to all tables etc but it's the pages which are locked down.

NAV's standard security gives access to all objects except object types system and tabledata.
That usually works well, unless you want to hide things like prices, accounting amounts or data related to sales persons other than the one related to the user.

Granted, but the problem is we use little "Standard NAV" functions as the partner has created so many new/custom modules. Hence why I was after a means of 'monitoring' user sessions to get a list of all users activity over a 24-hour period.
