Hi Guys
I'm using the service module and when a service quote/order is fully completed , the document gets deleted from Business Central. Is there a way to customise the system so completed orders are not deleted and the order status changes to something meaningful

Hello Samantha-
Few options here, but they depend on what your goal is.
So that's the first question, what is your end goal?
* Have the document stay open and never go away? why?
* Have the document as an old reference for future information?
* Keep a copy of the document for future reference as to how the document was at the time it was posted and invoiced?
Best of Luck

The main issue with deleting is we have to use archive functions (I think it's available in latest version) for looking at historical quotes and copy to new when duplicating or just for reference. Since we are customising the tables all fields need to be transfered to archive as well. Looking at the number of quotes storage and look up functions should not get affected if we keep to the quotes after completion for accessing historical data - that was the thinking. The typical use always gets confused with archive table0
