Creating functionality to TEXT a phone number when backorder get received

I am looking for new functionality to have NAV 2018 automatically send a TEXT message to a specific phone number to alert the customer the backorder sales line is received in - is this possible?

    Yes but not directly done in NAV. You must find the text phone sending device and it should have a interface. I've done it something but instead of NAV with a different user software 20 years ago, so today it should be easier

    You could send an email instead. There are online services that converts an email to sms. e.g. you could send email to 123456789@SampleTelcoEmail2sms.com and it will convert from email, and send the contents to sms with phone no. 123456789. Functionality differs from country to country, and from the telco provider.

    My local telco used to have this service, but discontinued it, as whatsapp and email was a more popular option.

    If you need to use SMS service to notify user, you can use https://www.twilio.com for example or something similar for this.
