calculate Sales TAX using Dexterity

Hi,
I want to calculate Sales Tax using dexterity in the Sales Order form and then populate the appropriate fields in the database underneath. I have written the logic for the tax calculation part but am stuck at how to add the tax into the tables and show it in the Sales TAX TextBox on the sales form .
Can some body point me in the right direction.

you have to update these tables to update table in the database
SOP_Tax_WORK_HIST SOP10105
SOP_Distribution_WORK_HIST SOP10102
