Network share as URL/Hyperlink in field

Hello!
We are facing the following problem:
In Business Central web client, we would like to use network share as clickable links.
It's working for HTTP and https protocols but for file:// protocol it redirects us to about:blank#blocked, and the field trims the \\'s from the url \\machinename\share\file.ext to it's parsed as regular http url.
Is there any solution to open network share as link in default browser from business central?

Regards
Peter

@Haxiboy As @Tony_NCD explains it is not doable from AL, but if you add a extension to google chrome you can actually make it possible, take a look at: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/local-explorer-file-manag/eokekhgpaakbkfkmjjcbffibkencdfkl
It does the job you want (but is not in anyway supported)For help, do not use PM, use forum instead, perhaps other people have the same question, or better answers.0

What you're asking for is not doable. When you use the file:// protocol, it means a file on the local PC and if you think about it, that makes no sense in the context of a web server or a cloud environment to point to something on a local PC. Note that we're talking about the login user's local PC, not the server when using the file:// protocol.
Network shares in the form of UNC paths like \\ is treated the same way, this may work on an "on premise" environment but not on BC. If you're on an "on premise" version of BC, perhaps they're enforcing that rule hence it won't work for you.0 -
