D365BC: Publish through vs code without code ?

Is there anyway I can use vs code, using a 3rd party extension or any other way, to publish an .app file without actual source code through vs code ?
(I'd like to do schemaupdatemode: recreate)

Couldn't you use powershell commands?:

Uninstall-NavApp (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powershell/module/microsoft.dynamics.nav.apps.management/uninstall-navapp?view=businesscentral-ps)
Publish-NavApp (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powershell/module/microsoft.dynamics.nav.apps.management/publish-navapp?view=businesscentral-ps)
Sync-NavApp -Mode Clean ##need to uninstall the App first for this to work (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powershell/module/microsoft.dynamics.nav.apps.management/sync-navapp?view=businesscentral-ps)
Install-NavApp (or through client) (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powershell/module/microsoft.dynamics.nav.apps.management/install-navapp?view=businesscentral-ps)

About "-Mode Clean":

Clean: The database schema defined by all versions of the target NAV App will be removed from the target tenant database and all data is lost. That is, if a table or table extension was included in any version of the target NAV App, then the respective full or companion table will be dropped from the tenant database.

Clean, removes all data. That is what I am trying to avoid. I want to for instance remove a field without losing other data.

A little late, but you can NOT delete a field without mode clean. You have to mark the field as obsolete and remove it from any pages/reports/code (the compiler will help with this).
