Copying Settings and Configurations.

I am trying to change my Nav 2017 from an older to a newer version of Nav 2017. I have been made aware that if I uninstall the older version, re-install the newer version and restore the database, the settings, user rights, permissions and configurations will be reset. How does one copy the database/company settings and configurations before uninstalling NAV?

You are performing a technical upgrade.
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics-nav/converting-a-database
This does not affect user rights permissions and most configurations, if .config files are backupped and compared afterwards.0 -
How are the config files backed-up?0

just copy paste from the folder
