Converting the sign ÿ

in NAV/Navision Classic Client
Hi all,
Have a strange problem and I cannot quite get it to work properly.
When exporting data to file the ÿ = ASCII255 is placed instead of space in the file. Want to convert it to ASCII32 (normal space).
I try to use the CONVERTSTR but cannot make it work.
Any suggestions?

    It is standard diskfile written from a report (defined as file in globals/datatype).

    It look like something related with encoding. What format is the output file?
