Last Direct Cost field on item card - Does it take unit of measure conversion into account?

I have a situation where base UOM is SFT and Purchase UOM is LB.
But when I post the purchase invoice, the system is inserting the LB direct cost as the "Last Direct Cost" on the item card instead of the conversion factor to the base UOM. Is this correct?
