how can I replicate the multiple level of Approvals using NAV 2016 Workflow Functionality witho

virajcvirajc Member Posts: 3
Our client has a very secure system, where each and every order either Sales, Purchase or Production, goes from a multiple lever of Approvals before they are released for final stage. This client is live using Dynamics Nav 2015 and now moving to 2016 version of Dynamics NAV. The functionality for Approvals mechanism is now changed and termed as Workflow in Dynamics NAV 2016. Is there any suggestions how can I replicate the same multiple level of Approvals using NAV 2016 Workflow Functionality without changing approval Setup?

    HI @virajc ,
If you setup the multi-level approver based on standard NAV 2015 process I don't think that will be a problem.
You can still setup it in the same manner.
** Only additional approver which were there till 2015 (in approval) is not a part of workflow.

    Thanks & Regards,
    Saurav Dhyani

    Hi Viraj,

: Here are the steps for working on Workflows in Dynamics Navision 2016

Step – 1: Creating Approval User Setup
First Step for Workflow mechanism is creating an approval user setup, this functionality is the same as conventional Document Approvals, Create Approval setup for one User and One Approver.

Step – 2: Creating Workflow Templates (For example - Sales Work flow for Sales Quotation)
Create a Workflow template from Workflow sections in Navision, this workflow template will act as a base for all the approval request, delegations, and rejections for Sales Quote.

Step – 3: Defining a Condition for the Event and Response for the Event
Select the template created in Step 2, and define the appropriate Event & a Conditions from available conditions that comes with the standard CRONUS sample database of NAV, at last select a Response that will be generated when the event with a condition occurs.

Step – 4: Testing Workflow Mechanism
For testing a Workflow for Sales Quote, create a Sales Quote & try to Make Order from the Menu items, system will prompt for an approval until the order is approved by the approver defined in the Approval Workflow.

Step – 5 Approval of Document
Once the document is sent from Requesting user, it is available at the Approvers end as an Open document, the user can approve it, delegate it or Reject according to the Approval Setup defined in the system. Once the Document is approved, it can be converted into a Successful Sales Order by the Requesting User.

If you have used standard Approvals in 2015 without any customisation I would though that the Upgrade Toolkit should address the problem creating an equivalent setup for you?
