database is too recent error NAV 2017 cumulative update 12

I just installed cumulative update 12. When I attempt to start the service for the demo database I get the error "database on server cannot be opened by this version of Dynamics NAV because the database is too recent". I doubled checked. The service is NAV version 10. The database is version 10. This was all working before I did installed the cumulative update. Suggestions?

Hi

NAV version 10.0.13682 is the RTM version. You need to start Dev Env from the folder where your CU12 has been installed.
If you have not installed the Dev Env on your PC yet just copy the RoleTailoredClient\program files\Microsoft Dynamics NAV\100\RoleTailored Client folder from CU12 installation to some separate folder on your PC and start finsql.exe from there

Do not overwrite C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Dynamics NAV\100\RoleTailored Client folder as you will not be able to ge to your older databases

On the NST server you will need to have a separate NST service setup to accees the database through the RCT client, and also you will need the CU12 RTC client to connect to the new CU12 service
