Hi,
I have Visual Studio 2012 installed. When I opened the layout, it opens Visual Studio 2012 but it's not what you supposed to get. Please look at the attached image.

How to get this sorted? I need to open Visual Studio in order to create report.
Thanks

Hello,
Make sure you installed Microsoft SQL Server Data Tools correctly on your visual studio. Here is a similar case: https://community.dynamics.com/nav/b/letstalknav/archive/2015/12/21/visual-studio-not-displaying-nav-report-layout-properly
P.S: If I remember "Microsoft SQL Server Data Tools" was called "BIDS" (or something like that) for old versions of Visual Studio

@roshandilruk SQL Server Data Tools can't be 2MB only
. I think you're showing us the help files for SQL Server Data Tools. You can download correct executable here https://www.microsoft.com/en-US/download/details.aspx?id=36843

Thanks indeed for the help. I have downloaded the tools via the link you provided. However, when I try to install it shows that the tools are already installed, so it wont proceed.
Please look at the image.
It is strange this still doesn't work. Any more tips I could try?

P.S: I'm using VS2015 (the menus may be a little different to your VS).0 -
Hi Nabil,
Thanks for your time mate. I tried this, but I don't see the Report Designer in the list. Please look at the image
Do you have a link that I could download VS 2012? I can't find it anymore as they're only giving option for 2017.?
Thanks0 -
Hi @roshandilruk,
Something is wrong with your installation. You will need to uninstall/reinstall your VS2012. Check this https://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/38006.how-to-download-older-versions-of-visual-studio.aspx

Hi Nabil,
I've uninstalled/reinstalled VS2012. It's the same story.
Spent too much time, so now decided to stick with Report builder.
Thanks very much indeed for taking time to help.
