Hello All,
I installed a local copy of NAV 2016 in my computer for testing and development.
I can connect to the developer / object explorer, but I cannot connect to the NAV 2016 client.
I added the firewall port of 7046.
My connection string is like this :
Database Server: IOT\IOT2
Database Name: IoTNAV90Test
SQL Edition: Enterprise 64 bit
Server Instance: (this is blank)
When I try to connect using the client.
I do the following string: IOT2:7046/IoTNAV90Test
and I keep getting the attached error message
I have a service running named like this : MicrosoftDynamicsNavServer$DynamicsNAV80

What am I doing wrong ? I spend all day reading and I still cannot connect.

Ultimately, I just deleted this instance of the DB and did a clean install of client and server.0

- your connection should be localhost:7046 ...
- you wrote about service "MicrosoftDynamicsNavServer$DynamicsNAV80", but your connection string uses another one (IoTNAV90Test). Why? These should be the same.0 -
Hi Martin,
Can you please check if the service account running the service has enough permission or not? If not please provide enough permission and restart the service.0 -
@lubost The IoTNAV90Test is what I called the database. The service is called DynamicsNAV80. Thank you !
@kalyankandimalla I will check permissions and elevate them to system admin0 -
