Prepayment Credit Memo Posting Date

We created a prepayment invoice from a Sales order In 09/2016 that was paid by the customer. Now in 04/2017 they have decided to cancel the order altogether. If I do a prepayment credit memo, it automatically posts it to 09/2016. This causes a problem because that is in a prior period that has already been closed. I need it to post with today's date but it doesn't prompt where I can change it. Is there a way to change the posting date on the CM before it posts?

    Can you please try changing the posting date to required date on related Sales order , and try creating the prepayment credit memo. This would help you to post the prepayment credit memo to the changed date.
