How do I add a new item in NAV 2017?

I've been working with NAV for over 15 years and at long last they've flummoxed me!

How on earth do I add a new item without using a template and automatically generated number?

It must be in the setup somewhere but I'm blowed if I can find it!!

Windows client, I've just installed 2017 with the demo database!

you need to disable all those Item Templates by editing the template list.

I just found that pressing Esc in the 'select a template for a new item page' gets me to the blanc item page.

or navigate to this path and disable all Item Templates
CRONUS Canada, Inc./Departments/Administration/Application Setup/General/Set Up Customer/Vendor/Item Templates

Goto the number series list, check if Manual nos. Is activated. Can be that a default item template is loaded when creating a new number automatically. Check also the templates list. Templates can be en/disabled in nav 2017.

Thanks everybody, I've now stopped it from using a template or automatically allocating item numbers, the problem now is how do I give the item a number as there's no field for one?
