How do you change 1 item variant to another without an item journal

in NAV/Navision Classic Client
We are moving a company that make rubber bales to NAV 2013R2 now.
They only have a handful of items, but requires many variants (+-15 per item).

*BUT* they need to move the bales between variants without item journals, i.e. only as a warehouse movement.

What would be the best way to achieve this?

    best you goto "/Departments/Warehouse/Inventory" and use "Item Reclass. Journal".
    show additional columns "variant code", "new location code", "project code", "new project code", eventually the "bin code" fields.

    Item Reclass Journal does NOT work - because you don't have "new variant code" field.

    Example: Item A, variant 1 needs to be changed to Item A, variant 2.

    Since new variant code is not available, you cannot change the variant for the item...

    Thanks, this is what I suspected - will just customize the Reclass Journal then. Any examples perhaps?
