Error no User Metadata within the filter

NAV 2015. User does to Cash Receipt Journal page list, selects Default Journal, immediately gets error. There is no User Metadata within the filter. Filters: User ID: myuser.
I have searched for this error message without success. I am thinking that the user has set a filter on the journal during the previous use of the journal and there are now no records within the filter. It seems to me that if that is the case, the filter should clear rather than presenting the user with an error.
I reckon I can go to the metadata table and find the record for the user and the page and and clear it, but is there a solution for the user? She cannot even open the page to clear the filter.

try by resetting user specific settings

The user followed the above suggestion. She still gets the error message. Any other ideas?
This is very frustrating. Has anyone else experienced it?0 -
I stopped and started the service, just in case that would make a difference. The user reports that she gets the same error message.
I do not see that I can programmatically control filters set by user personalization in page 255.
I checked the user personalisation table. There are NO records with the user id.
I would appreciate any other suggestions.0 -
This issue is not successfully answered. This group of users cannot enter cash receipts, which is an essential part of their job. I would appreciate any suggestions.0
