NAV 2016 Tablet Certificate SSL Internal Usage

Hi All!!!
I want to use the tablet client (on iOS) for NAV 2016 internally.
I don't understand what kind of certificate I need to buy and if the installation is any different than providing external access?
I read about the self-signed certificates but MS recommends not to use it for a production environment....
I've previously bought and configured a certificate for using the tablet client on an external network and it worked fine...
Can anyone please shed some light and point me in the right direction on what is required for using the tablet client on an internal network?
I would assume that you would have two different addresses for using the client internally and externally?
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks

Hi,
When you need HTTPS then you need a certificate. Perhaps local you can use HTTP and do without the certificate.
I think it is wise to setup two service tiers for the different (local/external) access types.
For the client on the local network you can use the servername instead of a public address.
Good luck.\\The truth exists in seven versions.0 -
The tablet client only works with HTTPS, how do I issue a certificate (that is not self signed) for an internal server name? Is it possible to purchase such a certificate? Have you had any experience in setting this up ?Why don't you try my compare tool?

Hi,
I believe we have a (external) certificate we use for both local and external. And yes I can connect to https://servername.domain.local/NAV/WebClient/tablet.aspx

Ok but have you then registered multiple names against the certificate? Would you be able to let me know how was the certificate created? Many ThanksWhy don't you try my compare tool?

I have not been involved in the certificate request and install on the server.\\The truth exists in seven versions.0

Would you be able to inspect the certificate to understand how many names have been allocated? Why don't you try my compare tool?
