Upgrade from 3.10 to 4.00 native in terminal server env

danlindstromdanlindstrom Member Posts: 130
Got problems efter upgrading a native 3.10 to native 4.00 in terminal server environment.
Before we had a technical working system (upgrading due to missing functionality) with 2 servers (A & B).
On server A we had the navision database server and on B the clients.
B is a Windows Server 2003 Terminal server
The new upgraded version have exact the same config except for the path to the client. During upgrade all the clients where uninstalled and reinstalled with the new version and it's standard path

After completed upgrade the users started to complain over that they are thown out of the system (crashing) occasionally both with and without errors. Mainly during a preview of an report followed by another commad like 'save as HTML'

Any ideas?

You should definitely go for Update 1 for 4.00 or wait a week or two for the 4.00 SP1.

How did you install the client on the Terminal Server, you should use install_ts.bat instead of the MSI package.

Yes, you will have to be patient and wait for another month. :(

Have you tried using this update?

After instaling Update 1 AND freeing up harddisc space.
    The system became stable.

Regarding install_ts.bat is only ment for previous versions of Navision up to ver 3.70.

Update 1 seems to be a multifix hotfix that solves more than MBS has control of. There is no topic of this problem in the KB. I got the hotfix because of a disappearing mouse pointer.
