Have you checked the Analisys view if everything is properly setup. :?:
The message says something like the Dimension 4 code being wrong :?
Maybe you need to update the analisys view...
And if you do not want a user to use a dimension value no more you can block it, you cannot delete it if it is used in an entry.0 -
I guess you need to use a different Dimension Value for this one. When I create a new Dimension Value "3100-MBS(BERJAYA)" for a specific Dimension Code, and I want to set a Field Filter on the field Code in the Dimension Values form (Form 537), the following error is displayed:Microsoft Navision Attain
The filter '3100-MBS(BERJAYA)' is invalid.
You entered an invalid expression in the filter on the Code field in the Dimension Value table.
For information about entering filters, see the online Help.
The problem are the "(" & ")" characters. Try to use some other chars. No support using PM or e-mail - Please use this forum. BC TechDays 2024: 13 & 14 June 2024, Antwerp (Belgium)0 -

If I rename a dimension value in my cronus database it gives no problem, even if there were postings.
How are you trying to rename it? You can just type a new code over the old code and navision will rename the field.0 -

I think you need to change the setup table.
If you go to Setup - Dimension - Dimension Values you can rename it here.0 -

Yes, I've looked it up and you are right. It cannot be renamed in 3.01
I think the best way to go is to write a report that does the rename function for you.
Can you write such a report?0 -

never mind..is ok..
after that i try to do one very risky method, i close the "checking rename function" in dimension value table, mean that i not allow the table running any checking process. finally , i succes to change the dimension value
i do in my testing database, look like no error happen, sure i unremark the code after that..is tha method can work?
i know this is not the right way...0 -
This can work, this means doing manualy what the report should do.
Just remember to update all ledger entry dimensions.0 -

i am sorry, because i am still new in navision, maybe my this question is sound stupig, how to update all ledger entry dimension?
but after i change the dimension, i go to general ledger entry and check for the account that i post withdimension value mbs(berjaya) , all automatic change to mbsberjaya. Is that mean that i no need to update and the navision auto update for me?0 -
mark,
thank you0
