NAV2015 License Usability Enquiry

Hi all,

Supposed I am on NAV2009 Classic platform, can I buy NAV2015 license package and use it in NAV2009 environment? Although there is a change in licensing structure from NAV2013 onwards.

    You cannot. I just tested it with 1 client's NAV 2009 R2 database and another client's NAV 2015 license. When you do the "License Change" you get a nice friendly "You cannot use this license" message.
    There are no bugs - only undocumented features.

    Only a new partner license will work on both new and classic.

    Partner license NAV2015 cannot but NAV2013 can.

    Is this the case?

    Actually I have no problem opening a customer's NAV 2009 R2 database with our NAV2015 partner license.
    There are no bugs - only undocumented features.

    The original partner license for NAV2013 did not work, but it was updated a few months after the original release to allow it.
    Since then the partner licenses have been backwards compatible.
