Hi Experts,

I have installed NAV Easy Security Light,but whenever i am trying to run the ESL forms,some permissions related error messages are coming and Under object designer, it doesn’t let me run anything imported with customer’s license.What is the solution of this problem??

You need to add the Module "14123010 NAV Easy Security Light" to the customer license. This module is delivered from Microsoft and Mergetool.com at 0 cost. Just ask your partner to add the module.

You can also use the application with a CRONUS license. That does not require an updated license.

The complete application is for free, except the recording of permissions are limited to 1..50|10000..99999 with the free edition, With a registration process is done from inside Easy Security Light.

Is there a negative permission tool? That is more realistic. We do not know what people do. But we know what they shouldn't.

I.e. everybody is at first a superuser. Then the CEO says OK take away looking at Chart of Accounts from people. Then 1 month later he says OK now take away something else.

Do I need to manually write programs to generate "all tables except y" permissions?

The Easy Security Light product only deal with the TableData permissions and what you describe is hard to do. But take a look at he Object Level Security with the full version of the video explains how this works.

Per,

Thanks for showing a simple (or at least a lot simpler) way to manage user security in NAV. I have one quick question though: is there a possibility to limit user viewing access to specific ranges within the G/L with Easy Security Light?

For example, I want users to be able to select certain turnover accounts in sales orders, but I want to limit their access so that they are unable to view i.e. current bank account totals or the company owner's income tax payments.

I am very happy to have found your tool and look forward to fighting for the full version purchase in our upcoming budget meeting.

◾The Limited User calculation is not using the tables added until October 2014.
◾NAV 2013 and later: One of the FlowFields was not calculating correctly in the Role Center. This has been changed.
◾NAV 2015: The function to submit a registration with e-mail was not working properly. This has been corrected.
◾The SQL Profiler template for SQL 2014 was not correct and did not allowed filtereing on the database name. This has been corrected
