Dear Experts,
One of my client has upgraded their database from NAV 2009 R2 to NAV 2013 R2 directly except Reports. (Without bringing it on NAV 2013)
Now, they want to upgrade their reports in NAV 2013 R2. In Reports, NAV 2009 R2 there are RTC Layous available.
If I want those reports to upgrade in NAV 2013 R2 with easy steps then I should bring those reports to NAV 2013 first and should use UPGRADE REPORTS feature that can reduce my time and efforts.
But, other dependent objects are not available in NAV 2013 like Tables, Codeunits etc. And hence, I wont be able to compile the report of NAV 2009 R2 which I have imported in NAV 2013 database.
Any suggestions or possibilities that I can use thet UPGRADE REPORTS feature ?
Thanks in advance.

Make a backup from your 2009 database. Then Open it with 2013, convert database. Compile the necessary Tables, with a bit luck the most of them will be compiled. Than hopefully you can upgrade your reports, than you can export them and import it to 2013 R2.0

You will need to get rid of code in 2009 that refers to FORM objects. Once you have done that, then you should be able to upgrade the reports in 2013.
Unless it is a simple layout, expect to redo it.
If the custom report was based off a standard report, then delete it instead and use the new report in 2013R2 as the base and save and customize it instead.David Machanick

Simply do a backup and open it 2013. Compile all objects. Go to Reports, then Tools, Upgrade Reports. That will create the layouts for you. You might need to adjust the layout anyway.
Good luck.0
