Automatic archiving of POs

Hi there...
Our company's Navision 3.7 has been modified so that when a SO is modified, the PO(s) which is related to that SO is also modified.
A log is maintained of the changes that are made to POs so that the purchasing dept. can keep track and send the new updated POs to vendors.
Does anyone know the simplest way to ensure that before the PO is modified, it is first archived.
I tried using the PO archive function from the Sales Line table, but there is an error: This function can only be called from the Purchase Header table?
Maybe I need to make a function in the Purchase Header table which I can call from the Sales Line table, which in turn will call the archive function? Or is there an easier way?

This can be done using a variable.
Then you can call the archive function with the purchase order.
