Hi all,
Is there an easy way to create a copy of a company while excluding the source company's transactions?
We need to create a NAV company for doing client demonstrations. We'd like to start out with a company that has the Cronus vendors and customers, but no transactions.
We tried the following:
but that brought the transactions over, as well.
Any suggestions would be most welcome.

We need to create a NAV company for doing client demonstrations. We'd like to start out with a company that has the Cronus vendors and customers, but no transactions.
We tried the following:
-
Departments -> Administration -> IT Administration -> General -> Companies
Create New Company
Select the new company and click on copy function to copy all the setups from existing company
but that brought the transactions over, as well.
Any suggestions would be most welcome.

Export the data you wish to keep using Data Migration, then re-import into your new company.0

Hi bknopp,
As per your steps of copying company i am sure your version should be NAV 2013 R2 not NAV 2013.
Adding on what aseigle said -
Below is the suggestive approach.
1. Navigate to Same Menu from where you copied company.
2. Insted of copying company Create a new Company. (Blank Company).
3. In the Old Company Navigate to Rapidstart wizard, Create a Package.
4. Select Tables whose data you want to carry forward like customer, vendors, items, FA and others as per your requirment.
5. Export the Data From Package in Excel.
6. Open New Company.
7. Import the excel using Rapidstart wizard in new Company.
@aseigle - Hope you agree on what i added.
@bknopp - Do let us know if you have any doubts about rapidstart.
Thanks & Regards,

My apologies. Yes, this is NAV 2013 R2. Build 37721, specifically.
I'll take a look at RapidStart, and let you know if I have any questions.
Thanks!0
