Hi everyone,

I'm new to the forum and I need some help to solve some issues.My issues are:
1.)I need to create a report or a form that will help me to generate a barcode and i should be able to print the barcode.The barcode should store the data that it got.
The scenario would be like this:
I should take the fields from the Item Table e.g. Item No.,Posting Date,Description and the barcode should store these details so that when printed ,the user should be able to use the barcode reader to read the barcode printed which will retrieve the data from Navision.

To print data in bar code style you only need a special font on the report. Search this forum on this topic or google it.

p.s.: How's the wheather on Mauritius - I'm freezing!

Thanks for replying.I already searched the forum and also googled it.I found a way to group the details like the barcode number but the only thing is that im not gettting the bars.And thats the main aspect of what i want.The weather is fine in Mauritius but the only thing is that it has not poured since long.

Some fonts require special characters at the start and end of the string to work properly - check that.

try the barcode generator in the download section to create a barcode without using fonts.
If you are going to use the fonts, please make sure that the font is installed on the clients. Or else it will fall back on a know font (like those without bars). Installing a font is placing the font-file into your windows/system32/fonts map

In navision 2013, you just need to install the font code 128 or code 39 in the system, and select the font for the textbox in which you want barcode to print

i have made fully worked "code 128" for all numeric or text input, if you interested pm me or mail me to william.akihisa@gmail.com
as far as i know only change it to barcode font will not work, because the purpose of barcode to read it with barcoding machine, which
is has certain keys and encryption. Maybe Dynamics Nav 2013 has it automaticaly never tried it before
