Giving access to external users

Some group of people in our company do not need NAV access. But they want to access navision data in sql. whats the best way to give them permission. they might run queries on excel.

  Insert their account into NAV, do not assign any roles. On SQL create own role with needed permissions, assign them this role on SQL.
