Warehouse Shipment vs. No Warehouse Shipment

Hi Guys,
Can anyone shed some light on when a company is not able to run an efficient warehouse without using a the Warehouse Shipment? Or put in another way: What is the reason for using a Ship+Pick setup in a location as opposed to simply a Pick setup?
In some documentation it says that with the warehouse shipment you are able to ship multiple sales orders in one shipment, but surely there must be other reasons...?
Thanks,
Thomas

Hi Guys,
Thank you very much. So really it boils down to two things:
1) Do you want to ship several sales orders in one shipment.
2) You do NOT want to control the picking process from the Sales Order.
Thanks, Thomas.0 -
Also do you want to identify inventory that is "picked but not shipped".There are no bugs - only undocumented features.0

It boils down to several things. Do you have a partner to help you determine what fits for your company?
The last line on the blog article explains this:Do not implement some feature just because you like the feature. In most cases, it will be overkill. It’s like buying a size 10 top-of-the line Nike tennis shoes for your 3 year old son and forcing him to walk in it every day. Eventually, he will grow into it. But by the time he grows into it, he’ll develop some other major problems that will cost more money to fix.Confessions of a Dynamics NAV Consultant = my blog
