How to call WCF service from Nav

Hi,

I need to call an external web service that is written using WCF from Nav 2013. Do I need to create a new class project in VS and to use it as addin in NAV?

I would really appreciate if someone could give me some hints on this.

Thank you for your reply.

Vjeko's codeunit works only with NAV pages, and another example that you provided uses Automation which I can not use with Nav 2013.

I need something that uses DotNet type variables, but I am still not sure if I can call external WCF service from Nav 2013.

Hi ,

Personally I do not see any reason why you cannot use automation.
Most of the automation variables have their presentation in .NET

Anyhow this is a nice and simple example how to consume a web service from NAV.

I ended up creating an add-in. It was very easy, and I needed just 3 lines of code in NAV to call the service.
