Dimensions

Hi expert. I have just set up Gobal Dimension 1 code and Global Dimension 2 Code from the general ledger. Where can I see the new dimension(e.g. Department) from the ledger after the payment is posted. If I post the sales order without using any dimension, is it necessary to set up the dimension from the general ledger?

    Thank you experts!
    It is the first time for us to set the dimensions from the general ledger. Since I cannot set up the dimenion directly from the Gobal Dimension 1 Code and Dimension 2 Code from the dimension tab of the general ledger , I have to go from Change Global Dimensions. I read the documents from the mocirosoft that we have to be careful to go from Change Global Dimensions. Is there another better way to add the global dimenion without going from change global dimensions.
