OBJECT DESIGNer is locked in NAVDEMO

I have installed the SQL server 2012 and add the NAVdemo under the database of the SQL server. I have also assigned the user to administrator right to the NAVDEMO.

Then I installed the Demo of the NAV2013. After I open the Microsoft Development

I can only use the window authentification to login, but not the SQL authentifiation.
If I select the SQL authentification, I have an error as below:

error 18456 2800 microsoft sql server native client 1000 sql server log failed if SQL authentification is selected.

After I access the object design, I cannot do anything since it says I don't have the right.
Please help!

    What authentication mode is SQL Server 2012 using? Only Windows Authentication or mixed mode?

    I have tried in windows authentification mode and sql and windows authentification mode, but neither of them work.
    Below is the test for the two settings.

    SQL server Management Studio
    Login info: Server Type: Database Type
    Authentification: Windows Authentification

    The security properties setting
    server authentification: Windows authentification mode
    login auditing: none

    But if I am using SQL Server Authentification to login into the SQL Server Management Studio, I cannot login and the error is as below:
    A connecton was successfully established with the server, but then an error occurred during the login process. (Provider: shared memeory provider, error: 0 - no process is on the other end of the pipe) (Microsoft SQL server, Error 233)
    No process is on the other end of the pipe.

    The security properties setting
    server authentification: SQL Server and Windows authentification mode

    Please advise! Thank you!

    I am still thinking that your SQL Server is setup only for Windows Authentication. Hower, googling on the error 233 I came across: MSSQLSERVER_233. Have a look and try.

    Also, I found it is licensed under Microsoft. Do I have to upload our license file in order to test designing the tables, pages and reports? Thank you!

    Assuming this applies to Dynamics NAV (and not SQL Server): no, not necessary, but you might. You can also just change (or import) the license file in your dev cleint (development environment).

    But why can I not access the object designer? For the demo database, does it matter if I set the SQL mode in windows authentification?
    I installed the SQL server and database in one machine and there is no client connection. Your advice is greatly appreciated! Thank you!
