Hello,
We have encountered this issue in many machines running Windows XP Service Pack 3 while running "finsql.exe" of Dynamics NAV 2009 R2.
“The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005).Click on OK to terminate the application.”
Googled, Yahooed and what not, couldn't find anything on this. Finally got the following link. Fortunately Google Chrome browser also has this error in some machines and the same is addressed.
This is what needs to be done to get it work:
Have a detailed reading in this error here:

-
Back up the registry on an affected system
Open the registry on the Agent system by entering regedit from a run prompt
Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\SysPlant
Open the Start DWORD
Change the value to 4 to disable the drivers
Reboot the system to commit the changes

Just for others: the SysPlant service is Symantec firewall... you could disable it in this way, which is DANGEROUS.0

I had a classic R2 client crashing with 0xc0000005. It was doing so when running a report.
The problem was that the report was built with a slightly newer build than the original build 32012.
At another site, the client did not crash, but each time the report was called from object designer, run/design/import/export it would freeze up, while it could be run and designed from the classic menu (and the rtc menu).
So be careful with what builds you use. to remedy, delete the report, and then import it through text (if you have one such) or with a fob from same build.0
