Accept blanks in a table field

Is there a way to accept a blank in a table field?
I have created a setup table and one of the fields is a field what is being used for a filler as a Text(1).
This filler can be anything and needs to include a blank.

The easyest way to handle this is to use space as a filler if the field is the empty string. If no filler is a valid option too, this solution is not feasible. In that case you need to add code on the form. In the control's triggers add code like this

Filler - OnAfterInput(VAR Text : Text[1024];)
IsSpace := Text = ' ';

Filler - OnValidate()
IF IsSpace THEN
  Filler := ' ';

Filler is the table field, IsSpace is a global variable of type Boolean

Yes, this is what I had in mind if it there wasn't some kind of a field option doing this.
The only concern is how to do it in RTC. But after some testing I noticed that RTC doesn't have that problem.
