Claim Opening Deferred Excise

Dear Experts,
I have updated the Opening value for Deferred Excise through Tax Journal by passing entry fro BED, eCess and SHE Cess with "Excise Entry" and "Deferred" checked for the financial year of 2012 - 2013.
But when I am trying to claim the opening value using "Claim Deferred Excise" utitlity, the same is staying unaffected.
Also for your added information I am able to claim the deferred excise which were there against purchase transactions.
Please suggest.
